DESCRIPTION:
A Short but Decent Overview of Douglas Jet Airplanes Fans of first-, second- and third-generation jet airliners from the Long Beach factory are sure to enjoy this interesting book. Individual chapters cover the Douglas DC-8 and DC-9 series, McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and MD-11 trijets, MD-80 series, and the MD-90 and MD-95 (Boeing 717-200). There are plenty of quality photographs by talented aviation photographers. Not just a hobbyist book A Customer Given the book's size and colorful presentation, at first glance it appears to be a benign coffee table book. But it provides a clear and detailed explanation of the rise and fall of Douglas Aircraft. Guy Norris' enthusiasm for the saga of aviation is infectious. Worthy as both a technical and social history.. "Good Pictures, but no really early users" according to R. Suetta. This book is really GREAT, but there is hardly any mention of the first users of the airplane, especially the DC-8 section. the rest of the book is very good.
