Electrical Engineering: An Introduction (The Oxford Series in Electrical and Computer Engineering) Something is missing A Customer Im a retired EE and having other textbooks in my library on this subject I would conclude that this is not an easy book to follow, certainly not as an introduction to second year engineering students. For example, the write up on higher-order circuits is just too superficial and left too large a gap to follow up into the examples or homework in my opinion. This comprehensive revision of a popular text helps non-electrical engineering majors--the future users, rather than the designers of electrical devices, systems, and machines--gain a conceptual understanding of electrical engineering. A section on SPICE, the leading computer-aided circuit analysis software, introduces students to computerized analysis of circuits. Early coverage of systems and an emphasis on an IC (integrated circuits) "building block" approach motivates non-majors. The text features integration of analog and digital technology with cutting-ed

Something is missing A Customer I'm a retired EE and having other textbooks in my library on this subject I would conclude that this is not an easy book to follow, certainly not as an introduction to second year engineering students. For example, the write up on higher-order circuits is just too superficial and left too large a gap to follow up into the examples or homework in my opinion. This treatment of subject areas seems to be the norm rather than the exception. This book is not incomplete and has many classical examples but. "Well writen and comprehensive" according to Alden. There is a lot to like about this book. It provides excruciatingly detailed coverage of basic engineering theories, written in a clear, intelligent way. The author does an effective job of tempering the extensively technical content with a friendly writing style that is never flip or insulting to the reader. I also appreciate the abundance of examples, illustrations, and diagrams, which support the text well and are easy to read. Pertinent code samples are shaded in gray, which enhances readability. Excellent introductory text. A Customer This is a very nice introduction to Electrical Engineering, which includes such topics as semiconductor devices, electromechanic machines or circuit theory. Before reading this book you should be familiar with calculus and complex numbers. The authors have concentrated on the most interesting topics and have developed them in a direct, revealing way, providing motivation before introducing each new concept. The chapters on steady state response and complex numbers are great. A light, well written boo
