DESCRIPTION:
For serious motorcyclists, riding is a hobby as well as a way of life, and the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, is the ultimate destination. Author Jim Casey starts out with a comprehensive history of American bikers from Marlon Brando to the Hell's Angels, then traces the evolution of the rally, its Harley-Davidson connection, and its unique cultural contribution to the lore of the American road. The Sturgis rally, which draws half a million participants a year, is as much about the journey as the destination. With more than 50 full-color photos, this book will appeal to both armchair adventurers and real-life bikers.

Five Stars A great read. With photos that make you feel your there.. Lit Lover said An insider look at Sturgis--with great pictures. This book is awesome. I highly recommend it--even if you don't like motorcycles. The story that Casey tells puts the reader right at the scene with the narrator. Casey's narrator is both funny and sweet and really brings the Sturgis story home. Plus, the pictures are incredible.. "Two Stars" according to Senior Citizen. Mostly pictures with a page describing the day. Typical motorcycle book--no sequencing just random observations of a complex setting.
