I didn't think I was living a particularly unhealthy life before I read that book but I wanted to make some changes. This book was the push I need. You will be surprised to see how many things that we eat have sugar in it. The objective is not to opt for sugar free diet like the author because it is very hard. But now that I now that there is 6 tea spoons of sugar in my caramel macchiato from Starbucks and 6 in a chocolate chunk cookie, I don't . It wasn't written in the style of the latest diet craze, it's more of a memoir of someone's journey with their relationship to food and sugar. It helped me think about my own attachment to sugar and carbs, yet I didn't feel I needed to do things the exact same way as her. She has an entertaining way of writing, a lot of British lingo for an American reader, but that made it a little lighthearted too. Kind of like Bridget Jones writing a diet book. Actually, it's exac. "Riveting" according to Guy R Florin. A fascinating book full of helpful tips. I read it in one sitting. Highly recommended. The right mix of scientific and practical.
