"Incredible story of hope" according to Mark. Just finished reading this incredible story. Very powerful. Having met the author and having heard part of his story, made it all the more intense.A story about family, drug abuse, mental illness, death, grief and loss, but also of recovery, hope and the healing power of art and people in your life who believe in you. It's a personal story so don't expect an academic paper about how to improve the mental health system or all its shortcomings, though many examples are described in this book. I applaud the guts it takes to share this personal stor. "To Thine Own Self Be True" according to Susan O.. Anyone who has had a close friend, family member, a loved one, or they themselves with a diagnosed psychiatric disorder will enjoy this book. Gen pop included. Issa Ibrahim, through his humor and honesty, shows us there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
