"Thomas Newton is Back" according to Dale Chase. I thoroughly enjoyed William Holden's first Thomas Newton book "Secret Societies" so I was looking forward to more 18th century adventure in this sequel. I was not disappointed. "The Thief Taker" not only broadens Newton's story with a rough sojourn in Paris, it returns him to London where his personal story unfolds amid intrigue, sex, frantic coach rides, and a conclusion that gives the reader the payoff he's been craving.
