I needed a quick intro to Verilog because I was making a simple demo circuit for a customer using a low-end FPGA and I needed to learn how to program it. I found it easy to read and gave me just the right amount of information. Anyone who knows some basic boolean logic should find this book accessible. I also looked at some free verilog tutorials online but I . Great intro wiredweird This brief intro presents everything a budding logic designer needs to get started in Verilog. It covers all the core language features needed for a first project - the basics that will also be used again and again in more complex designs.The reader should already know basic logic design: mapping problems to logic implementations, design of state machines, even a little processor architecture. This isn's a logic design book, it's a language book. As such, it won't stand alone as a text for a logic design class. For its purpose, though, it's a good on. This is a solid reference to the Verilog HDL and explains the language without completely detaching itself from the meaning of digital design. This is no a digital design book (or at least a strongly guided one) and if you do not understand the basic architecture and organization of a computer, this will probably not help. If you just need to learn Verilog to implement that knowledge, this is helpful, straightforward, and concise. Misguided expectations are usually the single most common reason for poor reviews.I recommend this for a hobbyist getting
