DESCRIPTION:
Within the secluded shelter of evergreens and cliffside that surrounds Bellingham Washington is South Hill, the city's prominent old money neighborhood; filled with gracious Victorians and manor homes, over looking the fishing port of Fairhaven and the dark waters of Bellingham Bay. 17 year-oldTrevor Blackmoore has lived here his entire life, shunned and feared, along with the rest of his clan by the snobbish and superstitious families that surround them; who regard the Blackmoores as the devil's concubines. Trevor's life is made extremely difficult by his tormentors and former childhood friends Cheri Hannifin, Greg Sheer, and Christian Vasquez; three school gods of the prestigious Mariner High School. When Christian suddenly returns to Trevor's life, full of regret and a sudden need for something more, Trevor is unaware that he is walking into a devilish and dangerous trap concocted by Cheri and Greg, who have more in store for Trevor than simple revenge but a plot to ruin an unsuspecting Christian as well. A century's old curse comes to an end, releasing an ancient and bloodthirsty evil, set out on destroying the family, and Trevor learns that he is at the center of it; realizing that he is all the stands between this darkness and his family's survival.. This act sets off a chain of events
"Such an amazing read! Blackmoore will keep you up at night" according to Mary M. Alexandre. Such an amazing read! Blackmoore will keep you up at night! Not only is it impossible to put down, but the dynamic characters and riveting mystery will haunt your dreams! I can't wait to read more from Marcus James!! A+++. BLACKMOORE, a novel by MARCUS JAMES First off let me say that I have resided for nearly 30 years (on & off) in the town where this book is set, Bellingham Washington.I recently had the pleasure to pick up a copy of BLACKMOORE at a book reading/signing that Marcus James was presenting while visiting our town. With comparisons to Anne Rice & the setting I know so well I couldn't wait to get home and dive right in!The previous reviewer gave you the synopsis of the story, so I will leave that part alone, just let me say that I am not sorry that I picked up a copy of this book! Rather straight (like myself) or gay, there is something for everyone in this book. I was also surprised by. Sam said wonderful first book !. I really enjoyed this book . All the supernatural elements are well done and creepy . I love a good spooky read and this one was really good . I can't wait for the next book in the series . I want to see what happens next in the Blackmoore family and it's heroes . Witchcraft and an anicent family curse and a young man dealing with being gay . That's alot to deal with not to mention high school ! Which is almost worse then a curse ! I grew up in love with Dark Shadows and The Addams Family and it's nice to add another spooky family to the mix .
"A compelling and haunting read. With Blackmoore, James shares the path to his own enlightened truths."-Take Five
