While there were some great aspects to this story, overall Breakaway felt lacking to me. Let’s start with what I like – the premise. I love the idea of rivals on the ice burning up the sheets when they’re not skating. Unfortunately, I only fell for half of this duo. For all intents and purposes, Jared Stone, a man in his thirties, is washed up as far as hockey goes. But what I reall. OMG!! OMG!! I'm so in love with Lane and Jared. Lane is socially inept, he says odd things, is quite literal at times, doesn’t pick up on social cues and isn’t comfortable with emotions. While Jared is patient with Lane, a true gentleman, even in his enforcer/protector sexy body. They bring out the best in each other. Avon did an awesome job with the characters. If you love to read about M/M then this is the one for you. I can't wait until i can read another awesome book. Keep up the awesome work!!.
