Very entertaining This book has great pieces of vintage makeup and is the perfect coffee table book because of that and the fact that it is not very educational. I knew I was not buying a historical text/educational piece so I am very pleased.. Fabulous book! This is a beautifully illustrated history of cosmetics and their containers over about the past 125 years. The author also neatly brings in the history of women during this time period, showing why and how the objects came into being and evolved. I highly recommend this book for anyone with an interest in women's history or beauty culture, or those involved i. A very pleasant overview of the history of beauty I bought this as a Kindle book and read it on my Kindle Touch, which was sometimes a little bit annoying because of the pictures. No matter how big you set the letters to be, most of the times pictures and subtitles don't go together and you have to keep flipping from one page to the other.
