Critical Eye said Not too interesting. Not too interesting. The book title ' Country Boys' led me to belive the short stories would be Country - as in farm and ranch. Instead I found lots of words about rural (think west suburban) rather than true country living. Generally well-written but not what I expected.. french reader said disappointed. Sorry, but I dont agree with other people reviewing this item.The picture on the cover is what is best in the whole book. I did'nt find any story being more valuable than a quiclky written draft for porn-clip storyboard.So many reitaring clichés : the same scene in differ. "One of the best collections of this kind" according to Moonlightfan. "Country Boys" is one of the best collections of this kind that I have ever read. Dale Chase's "Laying By" alone is worth the price of the book. These stories are full of poignancy and eros, joy and excitement, desire and the search for true love which is occasionally fulfilled.
