Since I got my NES for my birthday last year, it has worked as well as one can normally expect- the games wouldn't work the first time, but after a few blows into the cartridge and wriggling it around, they'd play. Eventually, more work had to be done to get the games to display. Finally, I decided I wanted to clean and fix it up to work well. However, upon reading this book and following its instructions, the end result waaaaaaaaaaaay exceeded my expectations. Every one of my games works on the first try with no hassle (with the exception of one, but I believe it to be a problem with the cartridge its. Gamers must buy! I bought this since it was .99 cents. I download the extra PDF that came with it to my kindle. I go home and take one of the several broken NES consoles I own that don't function and follow the manual. The only thing I did different was not putting the shield back in it. This NES was dying and with disabling the security chip, cleaning and bending the brass pins back into place the NES is working fine and all is great in the land of oldschool. Great reference to always have around.. Fantastic Read ! I gotta say there is a certain charm to the NES, This guide is informative and easy to understand, for any age level. I recommend it for anyone who wants to keep there original NES system alive and kicking!
