So what's the point of the book then? The result is an overload of suggestions that go something like this: "What should you wear to a baby shower? You can wear anything you want! What should you wear to a graduation? You can wear anything you want!" I wanted a book that was much more direct in its inspiration and guidance. Sure, I understand that fashion rules are "meant to be broken" - but why. Same old, same old Some books about fashion are great resources for new ideas and advice that help the reader put their own personal look together. This is a rehash of ideas that you could read in any copy of Vogue or Harper's over the past twenty-five years. It's a pedestrian read without even great fashion photos. The drawing are twee and unhelpful. If you love Nina Garcia, maybe you'll like it. Otherwise, don't bother.
