Volume I & II: Stunning Rachel It says a lot about a book when it can transform a 33 year old heterosexual female who has been an avid reader of the M/F romance genre for 15 years into a M/M genre addict. On a chilly February night I was craving a historical M/F enemies to lovers romance novel to warm me up - I stumbled across S.U. Pacat’s Captive Prince series instead. Probably one of the best stumbles I’ve ever made and I fell hard.The StorySet in a historical AU that bears likenesses particularly to the historical cult. "Magnificent cliffhangers!" according to Sofia Lindström. Warning: Only read this book if you feel up to waiting until February 2016 for the conclusion.This author sure knows how to write cliffhangers. I am eagerly awaiting finding out how all of this ends!I wouldn't exactly say that this book was lighter in tone than the previous one - after all, all the things in the previous book have still happened and haven't been retconned or anything - but there is definitely more focus on making Laurent and his men even more sympathetic as characters.
