DESCRIPTION:
"Radiowave Propagation over Ground" according to Ralph B. Holland. I found that this book is a well-explained treatment of the problem of propagation over ground. It firstly discusses the solution of the boundary conditions for an elemental current source over plane homogeneous ground and later over a spherical earth by firstly taking a historical approach and representation of the earlier works of Norton and others and then secondly exanding and deriving similar equations. The treatment does appear to be an approximation of the problemhowever, as the near-field terms are dropped and there doesn't appear to be an account for losses immediately under the antenna. The far-field terms, for the plane ear. "For groundwave, this is it." according to John Edward Serink. This is probably the best work I have seen on this topic. Contains most derivations, well referenced and logically laid out.A must have for any radio engineer. John
Researchers and engineers involved in propagation studies and applications in communications, broadcasting, radar and remote sensing will find this volume invaluable.. This is the first book devoted to radiowave propagation over land and sea
