"The Handbook of Natural Dyes Wonderful addition to my Library shelf!" according to Kat =^.^=. Hi, a lovely book, easy read, precise and to the point, simple with tons of helpful information. This was one of a few that I purchased because now I am interested in natural dyes. This lovely lady came up in online conversation a lot, with how easy it is to understand what you are doing, as she explains it. She is very safety oriented and explains why. She is detailed, very educated in this field, and this is a book for the reference shelf to go back to again and again.A lot of fun saving. sarcazm said skip this and check out a pinterest board. this book wasn't scientific enough for me. the photos for colors produced with or without other agents were so tiny, and nothing was really discussed on color differentiation between dyeing on plant vs. animal fibers. also the author scarcely went into detail about color-fastness, and not enough products from "everyday items" were even discussed, let alone other natural plant dyes i've seen used. there was also maybe one, possibly "skip this and check out a pinterest board" according to sarcazm. this book wasn't scientific enough for me. the photos for colors produced with or without other agents were so tiny, and nothing was really discussed on color differentiation between dyeing on plant vs. animal fibers. also the author scarcely went into detail about color-fastness, and not enough products from "everyday items" were even discussed, let alone other natural plant dyes i've seen used. there was also maybe one, possibly 2 dye 'recipes' in the entire book.. dye 'recipes' in the entire book.
