Not for young teens Lindsay It was a bit slow getting started, but halfway through, I was hooked. I read this to see if it was appropriate to read with the 15 y/o student I mentor, and although I liked the book, I'm not sure her parents will be comfortable with some of the themes. I'll try to find something more age appropriate for her, though it was a great read for me!. Awesome Read (don't judge by cover) I bought this book as a gift for a friend, mostly because we both appreciate the work Mia McKenzie does with Black Girl Dangerous. However, I almost mentally wrote the purchase off as just a donation to the author because I made the age-old mistake of judging it by its (back) cover, which looks rather amateur. I was completely wrong. The first paragraph was slightly off-putting, but after that, the book drew me in rapidly, and in the end, I was completely blown away. It did feel a little rou. "A MUST READ.
