Great book on unusual art Jimmy Parsons Gave this as a gift, and it was well received. Recommend it for anyone who grew up in Texas, particularly smaller towns where they would be more likely to recognize the art in their local Post Office.. Wonderful art Dale P. Johnson The mural in the Liberty, Texas was painted in 1940. I was born in that year. I went to the post office daily with my family or by myself for 18 years. The mural was of fishermen on a river. The artist had been inspired by the fact that Liberty is on the Trinity River east of Houston, Texas. But the rendition is a great embelishment of normal life ---that makes it interesting. As a 4 or 5 year old, I thought the mural to be Biblical ("Scenes by the Wayside" in Galilee). Only in this book did I learn of the artist's real in. Morris C.
