a gem for the generalist I bought this having heard the author speak on issues related to it at a conference in Italy. The lengthy title might seem to sideline it into a specialist niche, but the book is couched to cater for the interested layperson and the first reviewer rightly flags it. I did many times-on my nightstand when my eyes could no longer read, on the kitchen counter as I grabbed a few more words as I cooked dinner, on the doctor's desk during my appointment there and on t. M. Smith said A Must Read for Everyone. The Thirteenth Step is one of the best books I have ever read. You don't have to have any addictions to appreciate and learn from this book. I recommend it must read for everyone. I bought a few copies for friends. Lots of great lessons and insights for all.
