It includes the purchase of the Southern Pacific, building the Lucin Cutoff, response to San Francisco earthquake, th. Everything you ever wanted to know about E H Harriman Out of the three books written by Professor Klein on the UP this was the more interesting one to me. Similar to his first book the author explores the personalities and politics of running this railroad in particular and railroads in general.
