Excellent but sad collection This is an excellent but, ultimately, sad collection of essays by Daphne Patai. It is sad because of the fact that it is generally so wise and so true. The politicization of the academy is, by now, an old subject, but it is no less real. What is particularly sad is the fact that traditional standards of argument (fact, logic, objectivity) are spurned in the putative interest of postmodern insight, while in fact these standards are spurned (and the insights were 'developed') because some of the argume.
