ADV newbs must buy this book!!! Recently bought this in anticipation of buying a BMW F800GS here this spring/summer. After having read through the book, it goes into great details about general maintenance of the more common adv bikes on the market(BMW,KTM, etc). There are also sections regarding the farkles, etc that should be put on, etc. \Anybody ne. "Not Very Useful" according to R. Miller. This book was a waste. It spent in inordinate amount of its pages explaining the general theories of motorcycle systems, i.e. "what is a brake caliper?" When it comes to actual maintenance advice, the book is laughably vague. It does go into some specifics on a handful of models (of which my bike was not). But if you did. Philip Gardner said Reasonable information for models mentioned. Some generic info was helpful but for those without a model mentioned a bit scanty.
