This book began when Moshkovitz was teaching a college-level technology course and decided to compile a list of some common terms. The type font, page layout, and paper assist in lightening the dense nature of longer definitions. . Camera (video) is more than two pages in length. Although most definitions are brief, some, such as lens and studio, take up nearly a page. That list eventually grew into the more than 1,500 words and phrases defined here, "the terms used by professionals in everyday work and professional publications of the television and telecommunications industry worldwide." Terms related to both video and audio are included.The dictionary is arranged in strict alphabetical order with acronyms filed as words and numbers filed as spelled. Not all the terms are techn

Having read this dictionary from the beginning to the end more than once, I could not avoid being impressed by the attention to detail and precision of the definitions which indicates Moshkovitz's breadth of comprehension of the professional terminology he defines so well. I believe that the inclusion of illustrations would have enhanced the look and feel of the book. I understand that a new book by Moshkovitz is due out in April and am curious to see how he deals with his new subject "The Virtual Studio". Old News Rambush I was looking for a reference book that would help me learn Audio/Visual terminology.The book I received was copywritten in 1998. As technology has most certainly changed tentwentyfold since then, I find the usefullness of this item to be limitedvery limited. While I did purchase this item for little of nothing (the cost of shipping was actually greater than the cost of the book, it is no bargain if the definitions are dated.
