About the Author Gary Black was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He is an artist, musician, songwriter, art educator, and guitar instructor. He earned his M.Ed., B.S.Ed., and B.F.A. at Kent State University, and his A.A. Inspired by a miraculous recovery, he wrote his first book, Gyroscope. His life changed dramatically on July 20th, 2009, when severe sepsis overcame him and brought him to the edge of death. . He has produced, recorded, and performed his original music, and is an accomplished artist in painting, drawing, sculpture and assemblage. He now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. at Cuyahoga Community College

"Had Sepsis? Read This!" according to Angel77. If You had Sepsis, this is the book to read. For me, the most important parts are post sepsis. I urge you, if you are in this group, only choose a book that includes post sepsis. What is very hard to comprehend, is your quality of life changes. I know it will help family and friends, too. Frankly, I wish that your everyday day doctor. "Don't Waste Your Money!!!" according to Jay Stull. Poorly written, doesn't flow and really isn't that informative on sepsis. And yes, I know a thing or two about sepsis and septic shock.. "Excellent read" according to Amazon Customer. Loved this book and I highly recommend it for both nursing staff and/or if you have experienced Sepsis in your lifetime. I had it two years ago and like Mr. Black, nearly died. I suffered the same ICU psychosis with vivid dreams and paranoia. I am still recovering. Thank you Mr. Black for putting down on paper something I could barel
