A lively through Michigan's railroad stations, with an emphasis on architecture This book was a greater pleasure than I expected. The author went to 31 train stations across Michigan, from the big station in Detroit down to an assortment of stations in rural towns. He took great photos of the stations, and then wrote a few pages about the origins and history of each of them. It isn't a dull list of railroad station facts--it's a series of evocative, beautifully photographed instances of a chapter of American social history .
