Lively Educational Commentary After an introduction explaining that the 100 paintings were chosen by the National Gallery's curators, the works are presented in chronological order. Each color reproduction is on one page, & the author's comments are on the facing page. She discusses aspects of the image that we can see, & she adds historical info. to enrich our understanding. In my opinion, the writing addresses the interested general reader.. beautiful RMG This is a great collection of paintings from the National Gallery. We regretted not buying a book when we were there, so this is a great compromise!. history major said I great range of art!. This book arrived in great time and was much cheaper on Amazon then in stores. The range of art they had in here was spectacular! Great for any art lover!
