Helped me engage operators into pump reliability mindset. Gave the book to operators for a glimpse, with the intention of engaging them into taking the next step towards pump reliability. That is, a total organizational approach to continuous improvement of pump performance. At the very least, they were more interested in pump performance and care. Time will tell if engaging operators, and giving them a few tools to help them manage their workload will take our organization above the 100 months MTBF.. Novice level read to expert reference. Kelly McFarland Very informative. Good use of illustration, clear and supportive of the authors points. Five Stars DinoCroc great book for a pump mechanic to have.
We would be hard pressed to find a processing unit inside our complexes without a few of these in service. This book was specifically written for process operators who regularly deal with centrifugal pumps, addressing principally those variables and factors under their control, while limiting design theory and mathematics to a minimum. Formal and informal training must be provided regularly if continuous process and reliability gains are to be expected. The ever-present centrifugal pump is one of the workhorses of the process world, tirelessly moving fluids, ranging from the innocuous to the toxic and flammable, from one stage of the process to the next. The following topics and content are covered: 1. Lubrication basics 6. Without highly trained and confident operators we can never hope to real
