I can't believe that this is the 25th edition of this wonderful reference book. I've been buying them ever since the first issue. And each one was worth the upgrade. After all, would you want to search for a TV program with last years TV Guide? Shortwave broadcast stations change their programming, their hours, the language used and even the area of the globe they broadcast to. Without this guide you are just shooting in the dark if you are trying to listen to a particular type of programming.Each year there are reviews of radios, antennas and other list. "The annual guide to THE BROADCAST MEDIUM THAT WILL NOT DIE!" according to Joe Ekaitis: Gray Haired Geek. It's fun to look back at bold predictions and see what became of some of the more outlandish. Back in the 1970s, Yamaha sponsored a series of symphony orchestra performances of a Mozart piano concerto with the soloist playing a Yamaha electronic piano. The computer and electronic press dutifully wrote the obituary for the acoustic piano. One columnist even stated that "by the turn of the century, the acoustic piano will take its rightful place in museums next to the harpsichord and the valveless Baroque trumpet as a quaint 'period' instrument." This book REALLY saved the day. It gives you everything you need to start listening to Shortwave broadcasts. Shortwave was frustrating for me to tune around "hit and miss." This book tells you what bands work at different times of day. It gives you a "TV Guide" type listing (time,freq,and content) of broadcasters, and a chart to look up that station you just picked up, but have no idea of who/where it is. I think every listene
