too much kink not enough substance JOELLA I thought this book would be about a REALISTIC journey and instead you get a 50 Shades of Transgender meets Story of O meets Fetlife (never gone on it) story.I enjoyed the story of Trudi trying to discover herself and got upset at the self-harm. As a transgender myself and having only been on HRT for 5 months I understand the self doubt, loathing, and confusion.However, the story went off the rails and I was annoyed at the portrayal of the weak vulnerable female. Perhaps it's just me (I like women) but her. An Excellent and Thought-Provoking Read I read Tina G first, so I kind of backed into this series from the opposite direction. I must say that I loved this book. It is very well told and in many ways an urban Cinderella story. Like Cinderella, Trudi has several dark moments. It is always wonderful to see a protagonist emerge from a challenge and carry her scars with pride.The darkest moments were the most difficult for me, as the author glosses over the worst atrocities and expects the reader to read between the lines, as it were.
