DESCRIPTION:
Delightful little read This was a short and easy read about the atmosphere on Air Force One. I found it very fascinating to look into what went on behind the scenes of Air Force One. The book was filled with several such little stories of presidential practical jokes, awkward moments, scary situations, etc.One thing that it seemed that every president and every aide who was interviewed for this book said was that Air Force One had a very different atmosphere than rest of the Presidents moments. It was more laid-back and private, and many president. SJ Holley said Read it!. I loved this book. It gave enough detail about each President, but not too much to make it boring and overdone. Kenneth Walsh gives the reader a true insight into the planes that represent our country and serve as working offices for the Presidents. This book gives a real insight into the men who were elected to lead this country, as well as their wives and children. I could almost picture the atmosphere inside the plane with Walsh's descriptions. Most of the analysis of the Presidents wasn't a great surprise since there has b. Kind of disappointed This was said to be like new. It had pages when you looked at the book just lying on the table.that were very yellow looking like they had been somewhere where people smoke and got nicotine all over it. One page has a nasty mark on it like dried blood or chocolate.Maybe I expected to much because the last book I ordered that said like new, really did look like new. Oh, well, live and learn.

It also features descriptions of the food, the decor, the bedrooms, the medical clinic, and much more--as well as remarkable photos of the planes (inside and out) and the presidents.

To document the history and evolution of the "flying White House," Walsh (Feeding the Beast: The White House Versus the Press) interviewed more than 120 people, including the plane's crews and staff, plus past presidents and White House officials. Americans once thought presidents should "never stray from the United States," but FDR "changed the whole dynamic," becoming the first airborne chief executive when he flew to a secret 1943 meeting with Churchill in Casablanca.
