Something to think about I had heard some of the buzz about this book before I picked it up. Usually I don't do reviews, but I like reading what other people say about books. I'm writing this because I think some of the reviewers are missing what is significant (at least) to me about the book. Of course, Sheryl Sandberg is priviledged. No one in my family would even dream of going to Harvard. There are no doctors in my. Just A Reader said Narcissistic Kool-Aid. Sheryl Sandberg is a successful person. And if you like studying successful people, which I do, this is a great book. There's lots of good career advice, and the book is well written and interesting. Yet when you dig deeper, Sandberg's larger arguments fall apart, and I lose respect for her as a role model for women.The book's premise - that the world would be better off if women held 50% of le. Bobby said Disappointing platitudes and bias. I had large expectations for this book, written by a bright and successful corporate executive. (embracing a little stereotype) Many of the characteristics of woman are enviable, self-examination and improvement, nuanced reasoning and assessment, organization, candor in acknowledging faults, understanding of different personality styles.
