DESCRIPTION:
"A BLESSING TO ME!" according to Amazon Customer. Of all the years I have been affected with this challenge off and on with my life! I am STUNNED at how many Dr. with this degree in this field have failed me so MISERABLY. And not just me so many others who could have been awaken by information as important than this, and what is more important is how crimable it was to me is putting me on pills when I could have had a choice of this knowledge or both!I took this book in with me and showed it to my Dr. and when I said I can't understand why you some of you Dr's. never share any of this with your patients and she couldn't say anything she just looked at me like I was . Finally Some quick thoughts between classes on the book "The Agoraphobia Workbook" (by Pollard and Zuercher-White). Note: I'd recommend buying it new or like new--as a previous owner MAY have written in it.I've had agoraphobia for awhile. I've gotten a degree in psychology, seen therapists, psychiatrists, taken many prescribed drugs (ativan, klonopin, prozac--and now paxil and xanax), tried hypnosis, acupuncture, meditation, and read over 20 books on panic attacks and agoraphobia.HOWEVER, this is the first book that really appreciates the significance of internal symptoms (feared sensations) and the fear of symptom attacks (. Most sensible book on the subject I've read. lpcrose Having suffered from panic attacks and agoraphobia for 15 years, I could write a book on the subject. However, when you suffer, you can't see the forest for the trees. This book shows you the forest and how to get out of it! It shows the sufferer a different side to PD/AG that they may or may not have seen. Comprehensively covers topics that most books only gloss over. The work is not easy. Wish I could say it was. It will be a process, but at least it's nice to have a text that gives you step by step instructions to that process. Obviously, if you haven't seen a therapist or a doctor, I would recommend doing so, as
This book provides agoraphobia sufferers with a comprehensive explanation of symptoms and a list of resources for treatment. Follow step-by-step exercises to confront and overcome persistent fears. Regain the control and quality of life that agoraphobia takes away.
